GUEST BLOGGER: 10 Things You Didn't Know About Becoming a Published Author by K.M. Daughters

10 Things You Didn’t Know About Becoming a Published Author
by K.M. Daughters

#1 – That it would ever really happen. Imagine the serenity we missed.

#2 - That once it happened, subsequent books would not be published automatically.

#3 - That you need a lot of bookmarks. (But they’re pretty and we like them)

#4 – That your potential E-book buyers would appreciate bookmarks, too. We figured if there were no pages to “mark”…

#5 – That it would be much harder to sell your book to family or friends than to strangers.

#6 - That your publisher doesn’t send out free promo copies of your books for you.

#7 – That your publisher doesn’t do much promo for you at all, and certainly not for free.

#8 - That you really do need to know how to “Tweet” and “Befriend” all over cyberspace.

#9 - That an enthusiastic fan is a treasure beyond compare.

#10 – THAT NO MATTER HOW MANY TIMES YOU HOLD A NEWLY RELEASED BOOK WITH YOUR NAME ON IT IN YOUR HANDS, THE THRILL NEVER GETS OLD.
